Between sad desk lunches, social media doom scrolling, and all the other multitasking in between, we’ve forgotten how to take real breaks. So we teamed up with Lindsay Lohan to bring back Tea Breaks for everyone!

Our national survey has found that not all breaks are good breaks.

Here’s what we realized after surveying today’s US workforce on the state of their breaks at work:

Tips on Better Breaks

TIP 1

Pre-schedule breaks and block out your calendar or use an away message to clearly communicate to your colleagues that you are not available.

TIP 2

Use your break to do a fun or relaxing activity, like take a walk, do yoga, go outside, grab a refreshing bottle of Pure Leaf iced tea, or call a friend! 

TIP 3

Try to physically remove yourself from your workplace and/or computer and phone screens for the duration of your break.

TIP 4

Start a conversation with your team around different types of interruptions, and brainstorm ways to keep them from occurring.  (e.g., clarifying when things aren’t urgent).

We want Tea Breaks everywhere. That’s why we’re investing in a new Tea Break Grants Program in partnership with Mind Share Partners. Our grant program will provide funding for small businesses and nonprofits to create initiatives that promote employee wellbeing and revitalization. We hope to empower and inspire employees nationwide to take a meaningful break, unapologetically.
